Sunday’s 6  a-side tournament at Bishops Cleeve produced a somewhat historic moment for the club when both the Under 12 Celts teams made it to the final of a 6 a side tournament.

It more than made up for the previous days disappointment when the Celts were unfortunate to lose in the final at the Highworth 6 a side 2-1 to a very good Ruardean Rangers.
With injuries sustained the day before and a late cry-off it meant that one of the teams had to play with just 5 players, whilst the other team of six had no goalkeeper and the players had to share the role.
Both teams topped their 6 team groups and met in an all Fairford final with the six boys running out winners in extra time. It was a fantastic effort from both teams.
The team of five, Ted Andrews, Wil Lloyd, Dan Howard, Luke Carroll and Ollie Potter, pictured in the back row, were praised by referees and opposition coaches, including Farmors School head of sport Mr Hockey, for the way they played and dominated possession and their opposition in all their games with inferior numbers.
It was extremely hot, and with both teams having no subs it took a great deal of mental and physical resilience to see them reach the final and produce an outstanding display of football.
