Fairford and Lechlade YFC have taken the decision to cancel the classic vehicle show scheduled for Saturday May 25th.

The decision has been taken in the interest of safety, and concerns on the low number of volunteers available for the day have led to the decision.

Club Chairman Adam Sloman said “We’ve spoken to our friends at Fairford Classic Car Club and have taken the decision on the grounds of safety, to cancel the show. The Youth Football Club is struggling for volunteers and we were concerned that the number of people needed to run an event with motor vehicles safely would not be forthcoming. Naturally we are very disappointed as we saw the show as a huge opportunity to really move our ‘Put it on the Pitch’ campaign forward. This, coupled with the failure of the quiz night, means the committee will be rethinking future fund-raising activities. We are sorry to disappoint people and anyone who has already entered their car will be refunded.”

The next event in the calendar for the Club is the End of Season Presentation Day, set for Saturday May 18th.
