Fairford and Lechlade Youth Football Club have agreed a deal to borrow Cheltenham Town’s pitch for home fixtures.

The pitches at Horcott have long been an issue for the Fairford-based club so the deal with Cheltenham has been welcomed by the Club.

CTFC’s pitch and turf operations manager Avril Tauschen said “We’re happy to help with the loan of the surface here at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium. Provided that Fairford and Lechlade Youth Football Club return it before our home fixture on alternate Saturdays, we see no reason why this can’t be a good deal for both clubs.”

To aid the transition, FLYFC players are asked to arrive at the Jonny-Rocks stadium before noon today, with a decent quality tupperware box and a cake knife.

The turf can then be cut into slices for easy transportation. The return of the pitch will need to be completed before Cheltenham Town face Exeter City on Saturday.
